Our Mission
........is the support of
(a) destitude children in the Manila region (Philippines), who are suffering from Hydrocephalus.
(b) non-commercial kindergarden and educational workshops for street-children in Manila.
This is accomplished through
- direct assistance for example through financing pre- and post- operational neccessities, the provision of shunts for the hydrocephalus affected children, and the operation itself with regard to (a), as well as,
- financial support for the procurement of facilities and equipment for the kindergarden and the workshops, food for the children during their stay at the kindergarden and workshops under (b).
Considering that Philippines is predomantly catholic, we foster a close coordination with the catholic parishes in Heidelberg, but do not limit our contacts to this particular group.
Several of our board members have more than 10 years experience with the Philippines and have developped close friendship with the recipient institutions in Manila and keep over-head cost of the engagements below 5% through voluntary hands-on engagement; not many organisations can document such efficiency
